EACS HIV Summer School 2017 – Applications are open!

The applications for the EACS HIV Summer School are now open. The course will take place from September 7 to 11, 2017 in the South of France.

 

This 5-day residential course is designed for clinicians experienced in HIV management who want an update on the current issues in all aspects of HIV Medicine and clinical research. It will be delivered by an experienced faculty. A maximum of 70 participants can be enrolled.

European Young Investigators – YING

On December 16, 2016, EACS holds its first biennial European Young Investigators Conference – YING at the prestigious Royal Academies for Science and Arts of Belgium. It is an exciting new educational project led by Prof Nathan Clumeck. It aims to foster deeper and more frequent exchanges among young HIV experts across Europe.

Standard of Care for HIV & Coinfections in Europe

16-17 November 2016

 

On November 16-17, 2016, the EACS Policy Working Group organized the biennial Standard of Care for HIV and Coinfections in Europe meeting in Brussels. It aims to convene not only healthcare professionals and clinicians from across Europe active in the fight against HIV and coinfections but also stakeholders/partners and the community.

- Adherence to guidelines for treatment initiation and treatment monitoring and outcomes

- Retention in care

- Tuberculosis

Women against viruses in Europe – WAVE

16 November 2016

 

On November 16, 2016, the WAVE group held a one-day workshop in Brussels, Belgium involving participants from across Europe, Canada, and the wider community. The aim is to develop recommendations in relation to the care of HIV-positive women.

- Standards of care on monitoring, antiretroviral therapy, and management of co-morbidities

I do so in the knowledge that EACS has gone from strength to strength under the excellent stewardship of Prof Manuel Battegay over the last 4 years. There are now currently excellent governing structures in place and EACS has developed numerous collaborative links with other societies.

Each year World AIDS Day is on December 1st. It is the opportunity to remind us that the European AIDS Clinical Society’s mission is to promote excellence in standards of care, research and education in HIV infection and related co-infections, and to actively engage in the formulation of public health policy, with the aim of reducing HIV disease burden across Europe.

HepHIV 2017

January 31 - February 2

 

HepHIV 2017 Conference: HIV and Viral Hepatitis: Challenges of Timely Testing and Care will take place in Malta from 31 January to 2 February 2017. The overall aim is to further improve HIV and viral hepatitis testing and treatment by engaging stakeholders within the two fields and to stimulate exchange of experiences and best practice as well as presenting the latest evidence within the field of testing and linkage to care for HIV and viral hepatitis.
