17th European AIDS Conference - HIV Cure Symposium

7 November 2019

 

EACS is willing to strengthen basic and translational sciences within the 17th European AIDS Conference and is collaborating with the ANRS to organise a special session on HIV cure. This joint session will be held on Thursday, November 7 from 10:00-12:00.

European Hector Research Award in HIV 2019

The H.W. & J. Hector Foundation, Weinheim, is creating and  announcing a prize for European HIV research, which will be awarded for the best scientific achievements in the HIV research area in 2019.
Any paper on a HIV-related topic that has been accepted or published in a peer-reviewed journal within the last 24 months (i.e. not later than November 1, 2017) before the start of the 17th European AIDS Conference can be submitted.

The submitted paper should be sent, in electronic version, along with the application letter by June 30, 2019 to the EACS Secretariat at info_at_eacsociety.org.

EmERGE: Take part in a 5-minute survey regarding visits in your HIV clinic

The survey is carried out by the European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG) as part of the EmERGE Study (https://www.emergeproject.eu/), and seeks to shed light on the diversity of health services and the uses of m-health solutions to improve the delivery of HIV care in Europe.

International Symposium on HIV and Neuropsychiatry

14-15 June 2019

 

The 12th edition of the International Symposium on HIV and Neuropsychiatry will take place in Barcelona on 14-15 June 2019.
This Symposium is aimed at those health professionals who have healthcare or scientific interest in promoting health neuropsychological of the HIV-infected patients. It has an eminently practical character designed to the detection and management of the more frequent problems such as depression or neurocognitive deterioration, the knowledge of the neuropsychological effects of the antiretrovirals and adverse effects of psycho medicines and the consideration of the more outstanding interactions between both groups of medicines.

Clinical cases on drug-drug interactions in people living with HIV

Use of multiple drugs in addition to antiretroviral treatment (polypharmacy) is getting increasingly common in people living with HIV (PLWH). This is partly due to aging and co-morbidities, but also to the use of other substances that may be included in alternative treatments, supplements, steroids, recreational drugs, etc.
