EACS Award

EACS Award 2025

The European AIDS Clinical Society invites EACS members to nominate individuals who may be considered to receive the prestigious biennial EACS Award.

The EACS Award is handed out every two years at the time of the EACS Conference in recognition of an individual’s longstanding, impactful and sustained professional contribution to the field of HIV.

Contributions worthy of this recognition are expected to reflect sustained excellence in the field of HIV. Such contributions may be scientific in nature, and/or relate to advancing the prevention and care of people at risk of or affected by HIV, or to promoting education, policy, community engagement or advocacy. Additional details are outlined in the Terms of Reference.

This year the recipient(s) of the EACS Award will be announced during the Opening Ceremony of the 20th European AIDS Conference on Wednesday, 15 October 2025 in Paris.

Nomination requirements

Nominations of candidates for the EACS Award must be made by a member of EACS.

Required supporting documentation

  • A brief (max 1 A4 page, font size 12) written summary of the nominee’s main contributions to the field of HIV and why she/he is deemed worthy of receiving the EACS Award, addressed to the Chair of the Award Committee;
  • Supporting documentation in terms of a curriculum vitae, biographical sketch, publication record or otherwise is required. Reference to a nominee’s specific contributions to EACS’s mission and activities is recommended and appreciated.

Nominations should be submitted through the link here no later than 12 May 2025. Nominations received after this date will not be considered.

Selection procedure

All nominations with the required documentation will be reviewed by the EACS Award Committee consisting of members who reflect a diversity of expertise and experience. The committee may consider nominating two awardees, in which case one of the nominees must be an individual who has made major contributions concerning community engagement and/or advocacy.

The Committee will forward the name(s) of the selected laureate(s) for endorsement to the EACS Bureau.

We warmly invite you to take part in this nomination process for the 2025 EACS Award.
