EACS core curriculum

The EACS core curriculum serves as the foundation of our educational efforts, offering a clear roadmap for clinicians looking to specialise in HIV Medicine. With 14 main sections and corresponding subtopics, it provides a comprehensive guide for all educational activities organised by EACS.

Our goal is to set minimum standards across Europe, ensuring consistency and quality in HIV care. By doing so, we promote a unified approach to HIV Medicine practice. The core curriculum acts as a benchmark for educational activities, guaranteeing excellence in all initiatives.

Through programmes like the European Diploma in HIV Medicine, the HIV Summer School, YING, and the Management of HIV and Co-infections online course, EACS offers diverse educational opportunities aligned with the core knowledge areas outlined in the curriculum. These were defined in collaboration with an advisory committee made up of senior advisors and junior faculty from across Europe and chaired by Prof. Paddy Mallon.

In essence, the EACS core curriculum embodies the commitment to excellence, standardisation, and ongoing improvement in HIV Medicine education. It empowers clinicians to deliver top-quality care to individuals living with HIV.
